Luxury Vinyl Flooring Guidance

To help you get the most from your Luxury Vinyl Flooring, please take a moment to read the information below. It provides an overview of the installation process and guidance on how to care for your new floor.

If you’ve chosen an LVT floor with a rustic appearance, please note that colour variation between planks is normal.

Before Installation

  • LVT flooring requires a slight acclimatization period before installation, particularly if it was stored in a cold area. We recommend storing your LVT floor in the area it is intended for use for two days before commencing installation.
  • The floor must be clean, level, flat and dry before installation. A subfloor preparation guide is available upon request.

Installation

  • LVT floors can be laid floating or glued direct to a suitable substrate (see installation instructions).
  • Click LVT floors have an integrated locking mechanism to join tiles together. 5G and 5Gi locking mechanisms make for easy and quick installation, with the added benefit of being able to quickly uplift and refit tiles if required.

Maintenance and Care

  • We recommend that you put furniture feet on all furniture to protect your LVT flooring. Even the toughest, most scratch-resistant LVT and laminate floors can be damaged by dragging heavy furniture across it.
  • Mats should be placed inside and outside doors to reduce excess grit from shoes.
  • Maintenance and cleaning products can be supplied to go alongside your LVT floor to help keep it looking its best. LVT is a highly scratch and stain resistant flooring but there are options available for cleaning and repair if required. Please email info@tilestyle.ie for further information.

Please read the installation instructions carefully before installation of your floor and do not hesitate to contact us if you or your fitter have any questions.
